Product Pricing Formula
The standard price formula commonly used to compare brands and products are based on the total cost per milligram.
Take the total price and divide by the total amount of milligrams. The result will be the total cost per milligram.
Example:What’s the price per mg of a 1oz Tincture with 3000mg CBD that sells for $129?
Price Math: $129 divided by 3000mg = $0.043 per mg.
Potency Math: 3000mg divided by 30ml (1oz) = 100mg per ml
Example: What’s the price per mg of a 4oz Topical Cream with 750mg CBD that sells for $59.99?
Price Math: $59.99 divided by 750mg = $0.0799 per mg.
Potency Math: 750mg divided by 120ml (4oz) = 6.25mg per ml
NOTE: Certain products that have many other ingredients such as topical creams may include ingredients that are much more expensive than the CBD or Cannabinoids used. Something that should be taken into consideration when comparing quality products with other ingredients.
Compassionate Prices:
This comes down to the potency, quality and overall cost combined.
A product with a high "MG" count on the front of a large volume container for a cheap price people assume is the best buy for the total amount and cost. However, this is NOT the case and it's actually quite the opposite when it comes to overall volume. The more volume of product the more diluted it actually is.
Instance 1: Which one would you buy?
a) 1oz bottle with 3000mg for $125
b) 2oz bottle with 3000mg for $150
c) 2oz bottle with 3000mg for $125
Customers may think that (C) is the best buy being twice as much volume for same price as (A), and (B) being too overpriced. This is partially correct due to the fact that you get more product as a whole. The only difference between (A) & (B) is that (A) provides 100mg per ml potency dosage compared to the half strength of 50mg per ml being in a 2oz bottle instead of 1oz. This is great to control dosage better if it was necessary. CBD is not psychoactive so you really don't need to worry about accidentally taking too much at once. (B) & (C) has more overall product, however its just carrier oil with equal total amounts of CBD which makes sense why they should be around the same price. *I would suggest (A) being the strongest and most portable for the best price.
Instance 2: Which is the better deal?
a) 1oz container with 500mg for $30
b) 2oz container with 500mg for $40
c) 4oz container with 1000mg for $60
A) is 16.66mg per ml @ $0.06 per mg
B) is 8.33mg per ml @ $0.08 per mg
C) is 8.33mg per ml @ $0.06 per mg
